Mighty Battles - Cards
On the Mighty Battles project I was responsible for the cards. Rather than going with flat images for cards we ended up creating a 2.5D system to allow for some parallax and animation in the image. We wanted each card to feel “alive”, as if looking through a window.
In each of these examples I did the posing, lighting and rendering. I then deconstructed the render into layers to get the parallax effect I wanted in 3D space. A lot of the cards also have some animation that required some rigging, as well as FX and particles.
The player was able to manually rotate the cards in the menu. Here’s some examples of the 2.5D effect you would see.
